My personal favorite out here are the wild turkeys.  Most are in the 10 
lb range and they whir up out of the grass like a bunch of huge 
ungainly quail.  My late friend Helen mastered a very good turkey 
gobble call so we'd know where the birds were by their answering 
gobbles (and they'd know where we were).
