Susan, I wasn't directing what I said at you, so there's no reason for you to 
get 
defensive.  I was talking about basic lessons that contribute to the foundation 
of a good 
seat.  A good seat can be learned anywhere, often in the ring at first, but if 
there's 
ever a time you need a good solid seat it's when the unexpected arises on the 
trail.  I 
probably ride as much without stirrups on the trail as I do in the arena, 
probably more.
