On the one hand, it sounds awesome, and it's the sort of thing that we UK LARP types already do, albeit LARP and not tabletop RPG. Depending on the players, and the GM, and the con, I'd totally jump at the chance. On the other hand, there have been games at cons where I'd have chewed off my own spleen rather than play another second with those people. And to be stuck in a game with them for a whole weekend? Mother of God, no. Speaking personally I'd much rather do this with a LARP than with a tabletop because I don't like the idea of sitting still for more than a couple of hours - same reason I don't like long board games. You might be interested to know that when I ran "The Fall" at Gaelcon (essentially six linked scenarios back-to-back) I got three people who booked in to all of it. That might be an indicator of how popular this sort of thing is, but your mileage may vary. I don't think you can separate "this is a game of X type" from "this is a game run by Y" in the Irish market, and I remember a sentiment of "if I don't intend to experience the whole story I won't book into a small part of it."
