I know I'm asking this every time this subject is raised, but I don't
recall ever receiving an answer that convinced me.

WHY do we need such expensive RAID & SCSI solutions, instead of much cheaper
IDE disks?

I'd like to remind you that most of the Iglu content is mirrors of information
that is available elsewhere, so redundancy isn't a very important issue.
I also doubt that Iglu is so popular that it needs the extra speed of these
disks (but correct me if I'm wrong...).

Of course, if someone volunteers to pay for the more expensive disks, I
wouldn't say no :)
