Sorry for the attachment. Actually due to this problem on the laptop,
I have to use my mobile to do the mails and hence am unable to do the
things the right way.

After I managed to start my laptop (after waiting for about half an
hour), I looked at the fan below and can conclusively say that the fan
is not running at all. So there is surely a heating issue. The
temperature is varying from 36 - 40 C.

I looked at the logs but couldn't find anything in particular. Can you
guide me as to what should I look for, in which file, so that I can
give a clearer picture of what's happening.

Also, I do have a hard drive issue since about a year. It suffered
physical damage about one year back due to which a lot of bad sectors
developed and I lost one complete partition. But it never caused such
a problem ever. So I am guessing is that the hard drive problem is
there and along with that, this heating problem has also developed.
