Sorry for the attachment. Actually due to this problem on the laptop, I have to use my mobile to do the mails and hence am unable to do the things the right way.
After I managed to start my laptop (after waiting for about half an hour), I looked at the fan below and can conclusively say that the fan is not running at all. So there is surely a heating issue. The temperature is varying from 36 - 40 C. I looked at the logs but couldn't find anything in particular. Can you guide me as to what should I look for, in which file, so that I can give a clearer picture of what's happening. Also, I do have a hard drive issue since about a year. It suffered physical damage about one year back due to which a lot of bad sectors developed and I lost one complete partition. But it never caused such a problem ever. So I am guessing is that the hard drive problem is there and along with that, this heating problem has also developed. -- Tanay Mathpal Assistant Systems Engineer Tata Consultancy Services Chennai http://twitter.com/tanamania -- Mailing list guidelines and other related articles: http://lug-iitd.org/Footer
