No luck. I disabled hpet but still then the system froze after about half an hour of usage. I was constantly checking the temperature and just one second before the freeze occurred, the temperature was just 49 C. There is nothing in the logs too!
The freezing was also not usual. It was similar to how we switch off our television. The screen got blank, the system became unresponsive and there was no blinking of the Caps Lock and Scroll Lock LEDs also. But the power indicator light was still on and I had to forcibly switch off the system by holding down the power button. I know for certain that the fan at the bottom is not running and on using a USB cooler fan, the system is working fine for hours. So this not running of fan must be a motherboard issue, right? Or will simple cleaning would work? Any ideas anyone?
