Aah! well, I didn't want to start a "distro" war! But I like Slackware
more than I do Red Hat, that's for sure (purely personal opinion -- I
definitely don't want to start a war).

Oh! but please don't perpetuate the myth that Slackware is difficult to
install. It isn't one bit. On the other hand, it lets you have better
control over what you want installed and, to quote from one of the
pro-Slackware lists (I don't remember which one), "installing Slackware
in the `verbose' mode is a great way for a newbie to learn about Linux".
This way you at least get to see, at least for once, what it is that you
are installing and read brief descriptions about them, too.
About the Ram-Shyam-etc.s, perhaps Red Hat's for them, just as Windows
might be. Russel McOrmond was maybe right when he said on this list very
recently: those who root for Slackware are not the best people to take
Linux to the masses. Perhaps not. But I'd rather have Slackware for
myself than go to the masses with Red Hat!
