Come on! Manas! What is a LUG list without its bi-annual distro-war ;-) *just kidding*

Hmmm.... I think we need to differentiate a bit, as Linux goes more mainstream, there
will be more and more users who
will preferring to use the OS, won't be as ready to learn about what makes Linux works
....what I had mean't was that
just because a person may have been a Windows user throughout his life doesn't mean
that he understands the details of
the architecture.
As the Linux interface becomes more easier and intuitive, the demand on a person's
computing skills to use a Linux box
will sharply decrease. As the focus shifts from the tools to do the job (something
that we are doing now), to actually
doing the job in the best possible way or in the shortest possible time, ppl are less
likely to bother about the
construction of the tool. A time like this may not be very far off as we think.

Aah! spoken like a true academic ....aren't they supposed to live in some sort of
towers??? ;-) But seriously, the best
part of Linux is perhaps that we have this choice, you can chose your own direction
instead of being driven by saavy
marketing....and you definitely have every right to use Slackware...long live choice!!
