They DO NOT have any software audit , i fact they do not have any external audits AT ALL . The internal audit is basically a eyewash . So are these nationalised banks .

Internal audit should guard against use of pirated software.

Well it does not - in LIC where I work 99% of the people who conduct
internel audit does not what an "operating system" is or why it's to be
licensed or what GPL or EULA is . i've been here for 15 years .

them to pay won't hurt any one. What you can show them is the increased speed and convenience of removing the anti-virus program. Actually, Linux once installed is probably easier to use than M$. Specially you can show them data security of Linux file system, protection from read, write from peers etc.

Windows may come without any additional cost, but virus protection do not come free. Even if it comes, installing and maintaining them is a trouble that they can do without.

Right that I understand - although organisations like LIC / GIC / BANKs / Railway
are not exactly using TAX-Money , it's an open market in insurance/banks now
and it's actually people's investment money that they play with . They have
"corporate" antivirus . And their main servers work on Linux or othr Unix and don't care about virus in user PC's ; all of my office win PCs are virus reservoirs with some historic strains still present !! If it gets too much just call the AMC
guys !!
I've from time to time tried to impress the strengths of open source OS's ,
they will not take it seriously . Then again FREE WINDOZE .
