Action is better than worrying.

Right you are - my feelings are similar to throwing chairs .
But seriously the principal reasons why we geekos stick to linux/BSD etc are not that an
attractive proposition to day to day users .
95% people would not know what to do with source-code even when it's free . 95% people would not want to download 2 CD's when u can ask almost anybody for
1 free copy , many ask their IT deptt for a copy of winXP /office .
95% people would want to get and use what 95% of people are doing .
95% people would like to follow when they see " IBM recommends you use ..... " 95% people would want something which is faster , even if it's just appears to be so ,
   and really isn't .
95% people would not like to learn anything to use a computer which is more complex
   than watchin TV .
On top of that if government tacitly encourages and practices software piracy in it's
own organisations .... the future for linux for our country is dark .
Everybody shall adopt linux for server applications where they can't do without unix and does want it free ---- hence Linux . Hey nobody here even buys Enterprise versions of Linux because it has a price . Everywhere else they shall deploy pirated Windoze again because it is free . Then get a free Anti-Virus like AVG and a free anti-spyware ....... and so on . It is very painful for me to think that Linux shall in this scheme of things be
relegated to an invisible server role .
                                                         - pinaki .
