Pretty easy.,  The place where a mailing list is hosted doesn't change
netiquette in this context.  English is the established medium of
communication in this mailing list.  You can't point to a single LUG in
India (or probably globally) which allows mixing languages like that. 
Why should this one mailing list be the exception because a couple of
people can't be bothered to tag mails to enable rest of us to do
filtering?   If everyone else wants tagging, they should just oblige.
Anything else is just plain rude.
