I really really didn't want to reply on this thread - as people pointed out, this will just die down and things will go back to the usual self. but seriously - "do extra work"? - they take all the pain in the world - using transliteration (or other RMS certified tool) to write a mail in Tamil - spending a good amount of their time [as compared to writing a mail in English, writing in Tamil takes more time - i hope you agree on this - for a 'noble' cause of course!], but tagging the subject line with [tamil] is extra work? - I'm missing something here. 1. We're confusing sympathy/emotions with guidelines. [a typical Indian behavior i should say - IMO] 2. If I wanted to promote tamil in lug, I would try to create a separate mailing list for myself.- IMO Having said that, I don't mind if I get a mail that has 'உபுண்டு' in it. Because, anyways I get mails from ilugc that has 'Hi' as subject, replies on digest mails, top posts, mail that does not do proper "google" research (this is a mailing list guideline!) and others. This will be one among them. > > Tagging would be more appropriate if the topic discussed is out of > the purview of this list - not the same with a using a different language. > > Victor said: >> Those people who sends mails in Tamil, have to confirm their acceptance in > this thread. >> Others, please wait for their confirmation. > > btw, you seem to make this a broader request on 'behalf' of the > community.
