Even if we give Free Linux CDs it will not work. Even if you install Linux in Dual boot mode it will not work . It is the System administrators, lab assistants we have to target. They are used to turbo C environment. They will not change unless forced to. Before that the convincing should be with the HODs, principals etc. If they agree then only we can think of the Lecturers wishes. Its all a big politics and fear of change in Engineering colleges. JNTU has Linux installation in dual boot mode,in First year syllabus from this year. That means System admins,lab assistants, students have to learn to install Linux. But how many colleges are willing to try Linux for C programming ? Only few colleges are using Linux wherever required. Change to new ways of doing things always bring resistance which is a human tendency.
