Objective is to "learn" using FLOSS. Take the management, faculty out of the equation. As students, most of you have computers at home or in the hostel. It would be simple to install any distro and start using it. Nobody is stopping you from contributing to FLOSS projects online. You have to learn to think and work independantly as much as possible, than depend on others for each and everything. If you get stuck, you have to think of alternate solutions. Its called "lateral thinking". Its just that 90% of students in India (that I have seen) are lazy, indifferent and waste lot of their time in gossip, movies that they hardly spend any time or show interest in "learning".
