We just bought an eMac last night. we had been waiting for about month
just to see by chance if anything big came thru at MWexpo. Well as you
know it didn't. I'll have to say the iMacDV 400 screen looks tiny now.
As for the the white color, it's gloss white very shiny and clean
looking. On the other hand the iMac FP have a very dull matte finish
and the ones on display at Compusa were showing fingerprints and smudges
all over them. It's the kind on finish you see on most beige monitors
that look extremely dirty after a year or two. We were going for the
most bang for the buck. I think we got it. I didn't really care what
it looked like. But I think it looks great now in the house. As for
the monitor clarity, to me there was no comparsion, the eMac is crystal
clear and the iMac FP has some rough jagged text even with font
smoothing turned on. One note the eMac not the quietest computer
around, the fan is definitely making its presence known but it's not
nearly as loud as the hard drive in the iMacDV.
