A great point. We tend to ignore the fact that the "cost" of the future has really dropped. I pulled out my original invoice from Power Computing in Septemeber 1996 for my still in service, albeit much upgraded, Power Tower Pro 180, with the then largest available 4 GB HD, and a whopping 128 MB of Ram. (Hey Photoshop only wanted 64 MB in those days. Who would ever use a 128 MB? <G>) Complete with 17" Sony monitor, delivered to my door it was $6,369.43 My daughters new eMac was $1,099.00, last month, and save for not having 6 PCI slots and lots of drive bays, it blows the doors off the PTP.
