John, I feel that the "improved interface" is actually a step backwards. Files that were installed in one location under single digit Mac OS, are now scattered throughout in Mac OS X (fonts are a good example). Before I installed ASM, it was hard telling what applications were running; the dock is severely limiting for this: make it big enough to see what the icons represent and you lose screen real estate. I'm finding lots of utilities to improve the interface so that it is as usable as OS 9: FruitMenu, ASM, Windowshade X, X-sounds, etc. I'm still looking for something to replace the Windows-like minimize/maximize/close buttons with something more intuitive (the actual Windows buttons are better than the traffic lights, IMO) Overall, I feel that the Aqua interface stresses form over function.
