Yes, which is why I don't like digests.

Yes, I had an account like that, although e-mail didn't use up much time or
bandwidth - web browsing or downloading files did.

That shouldn't matter - that's what the trashcan (or delete) is for, and
most email programs allow you to set your preferences to delete old messages
automatically as often as you tell it to.

If you had been keeping up with the posts, you'd know that all of this was
already covered when I first asked the question.  Until your e-mail to me
recently, I had never heard of trimming as a consideration to others, which
is why I asked - you had failed to mention why it was important.  It was an
issue that I was unaware of before, and no one had ever mentioned it to me
in the seven years I've been online.  So, naturally I didn't understand what
all the fuss was about.  It never seemed to matter to anyone before in my
experience.  It isn't rude if I didn't know it was an issue.  In my opinion,
it still isn't all that important.  It's just e-mail after all.  Now that I
know about it, I will be mindful about trimming - just as I said in a
previous post.
