Duh!  *slaps forehead*  Yes, I forgot about the PCI slots... I never really
thought of them as an option for my 6400's Ethernet, as I wanted to keep
slots open for faster video, USB, etc.

The 6400 is pretty easy to open, at least as far as adding Comm Slot or PCI
cards goes, but the original poster could also use a SCSI to Ethernet
converter box, and not have to open the case at all.  I would think that
SCSI to Ethernet would be at least a little faster than LocalTalk to
Ethernet.
