Hi Carol, Macers:
Under OS 9 you'll find the "Apple System Profiler" under the "Apple
Menu" in the menu bar or as I understand it, in OS X you'll find it
in the Utilities Folder. I'm assuming it works the same way in OX X
as it does in OS 9 and before.
Launch "Apple System Profiler" and then click the "Devices and Volumes" tab.
On my iMac it shows an item "Internal ATA 1" with a right pointing
arrow next to it. Click the arrow and it turns down to reveal:
Internal ATA 1 ID = 0 CD-ROM drive
Driver version: Not available
Mac OS partitions: 0
Removable media: Yes
Vendor: MATSHITA
Revision number: AD3B
Product ID: CD-ROM CR-173
Serial number:
So, in the case of my iMac it has a "Matshita CD-ROM CR-173" drive. I
look forward to seeing what your eMac has.
