>"Retrospect does not support the use of >CD-RW media with this drive." Not good. So, if I get an eMac with a >Combo Drive, I'll either have to do backups to CD-Rs (which is a >waste) or not at all.
Eh, missed that part. I haven't had much luck with CD-RW discs at all on any burner (I've had 3, including my eMac's combo). They're harder to read and more sensitive to scratches, in my experience. I recently burned 5 CD-RWs for use with my MP3-CD player, thinking I could add/remove/re-arrange the songs later without wasting a disc. I had to re-do one on CD-R yesterday 'cause it stopped cooperating-- a couple scratches kept hanging it up, and cleaning it made it worse. CD-Rs are cheap enough to be disposable nowadays, especially in 100-packs. I just got one for $18, so that's 18 cents a disc. -- http://www.zirconia3.com "If he thought he could fly, why didn't he take off from the ground first?" --Bill Hicks(1961-94) -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
