Kyle,

thanks for the advice.  I have stated many times, but I will try to do
so with all of my messages in the future, that I have a 15" flat panel
imac with combo drive (can view but not make dvd's), 10.2.0, formerly
10.1.5.

so when I boot from my OSX cd, do you mean to simply start the computer
with the OSX disc in the computer?  (disc 1, not 2 I would guess)
