I understand you are at work, so when you get home: Start the computer (still don't know which model...just an iMac) and boot from the OS X install CD. Instead of going through the start-up process when the first screen shows up go to the file menu and choose "Disk Utility." Highlight your drive and choose erase (you should have your files backed up already). Erase the drive and then partition it in 1 Mac OS Extended partition. Then quit and restart from the CD again. This time go ahead and install 10.2 on the blank drive. Then when when you are done with the install and restarted from the Hard Disk be sure that you set up your mail settings in the Internet Tab within the System Preferences, *as well as* in your mail application.
