Tina You just got charged for a tech to run diskwarrior on your old drive. disk warrior recovered data from the old drive and then the tech copied it over to the new one. i would bet that the backup folder you see is the entire contents of your old drive including a bootable system 9 folder.
i also have my suspicious that diskwarrior repaired your old drive but because it was applecared, the tech put in a new drive anyway. one that may have already had os9.2 installed. the new system 9.2 may not have all the extensions and addons for your old applications. i would carefully check your apps before u delete anything.
