You touch on a topic that i feel is something important.
morals and ethics in the computer field.

I think i can speak on this because of my many years in various areas of the
computer repair field.
Was a extra charge warranted for a quick service job?
In my experience, charges and service was subject to my service manager or
my employers own rules of conduct. At most times it was flexible based on
who the individual customers where, whether they are a customer,
and the potential for more business.
When I handled the service charges myself, i was more flexible on the
situation. i Beleived that the service department made money for the
companies in two forms. We helped make sales by being able to back up what
we sold. and We created word of mouth advertising based on our willingness
to be fair when we repaired things.

The line between these two points was always subject to discussion between
me and my employers but to this day, after working for several people, i
still stand by my beleif.

now that being said was a charge warranted? Tina if u asked for fast
service and they gave you an upfront charge, u had the right to go somewhere
else.
Being that it was warranty and apple used to charge fairly good rates for
service, i not sure i would have charged. But then I am was not working
for said company.

This question and the questions on tech utility software are ones with no
true answer. The answers received will be all sent by people who have
different expereinces.
