That's more liberal than I thought. I bought a "factory" refurb from 
SmallDog and got Applecare. I always thought that if I were to buy a 
refurb from a third party (i.e. a SmallDog refurb), it would often be 
older than one year and often a used machine fixed up and tested by a 
dealer.
Good to know it might be possible to get Applecare more liberally than I 
thought.
