There's no official announcement on whether or not Panther (10.3) will run on all legacy model G3's or not. Been various rumors, but Apple's official "Panther" sneak preview; http://www.apple.com/macosx/panther/ has no mention of compatibility yet. Best guess is it is at least as restrictive as Jaguar.
Panther won't install on any G3 without USB ports built in. It'll install on G3s as early as the Bondi iMac, but no early Powerbooks (Wallstreet).
more accurately... all of the available information is applicable to the DEVELOPER PREVIEW of Panther. the final version may have entirely different requirements. one never knows.
