I would think not, I think his point is that it would actually be better with the 8mb cache because the slot loaders have no fan. Will we are on the subject, I have a '99 DV SE 400 slotloader and have decided to put in a new HD, probably a Western Digital 120 7200rpm 8mb. Will this be a fairly straight forward DIY project? All I have done up to this point is install ram. What problems are likley to occur?
