My questions are as follows:

-> What size HDD does the G4 iMac use? (standard or laptop)

standard thus 3.5"

-> What is the HDD interface?

15" iMac G4's HDD interface (800MHz + 1GHz): UATA66, 17" iMac G4's HDD interface (800MHz + 1Ghz): UATA100

-> Will Mac OS X read NTFS?

yes.

-> What size/type of ram does the G4 iMac take?

15" iMac G4 (800MHz + 1GHz): one factory installed 256MB 168-pin SDRAM, and one open user accessible SO-DIMM slot (1GB max)

17" iMac G4 (800MHz + 1GHz):
one factory installed 256MB 184-pin DIMM (PC2100/DDR266), and one open
user accessible SO-DIMM slot (1GB max)

These refer to the OLD iMacs. If Daniel has a brand new iMac the specs are different. For example, the new iMacs use DDR RAM not SO-DIMMs

->Has the 1.0Ghz G4 iMac have USB 2.0?

no.

Yes, the new 1.0Ghz G4 iMac has USB 2.0

The older you get the more you need the people you knew when you were young.
