-> What size HDD does the G4 iMac use? (standard or laptop)standard.
-> What is the HDD interface?Don't understand the question. ATA I think is what you're asking me for.
-> Will Mac OS X read NTFS?Read, yes. Format, NO.
-> What size/type of ram does the G4 iMac take?Every heard of Knowledgebase? Use it.
Yes.-> If i got a firewire enclosure for it, could the iMac boot off it? (just in case i ever wanted to)
->Has the 1.0Ghz G4 iMac have USB 2.0?
The brand new one does. The previous one didn't.
-> How much would I get if I part-exchanged this iMac for the (lowest model of) G5?
Nothing. Apple doesn't do exchanges.
If you wanted to sell your iMac, I imagine it would sell for about 70% of what you paid for it. Assuming it's in pristine condition. Maybe a bit more if you throw in Applecare.
- Would need screen too but got a 20" VGA
That would work.
(-Out loud thought....me wants an iPod, that is a firewire drive...AHHHH!!! APPLE NEEDS TO RELEASE MAC OS X FOR IBM CLONES!
1. The iPod is available with a USB 2.0 adapter now.
2. Apple will NEVER repeat NEVER repeat N-E-V-E-R release Mac OS X for IBM-compatibles. Get it through your skull. Ain't gonna happen. The idea was MILDLY CONTEMPLATED as a contingency against Motorola getting out of the PC chip business, but now that IBM have taken the reins (brilliantly, I might add) that idea is DEAD. DEAD DEAD DEAD. Please repeat this until you get it.
- I am no businessman but if people could put OS X on a cheap PC box and they got a taste of Mac, (especially if they could duel boot with gods current plague) they might convert and apple would get more sales?-)
You are no businessman.
