Thanks for your info Mary, really appreciate it.
I have 4 gigs dedicated to 10.2 and it seems to be enough 'cause I don't have music or graphics.
Hmm, well if it seems like enuf for you, it probably is. :-) I went looking for some reference for my belief that Jag needs lots of free disk space to perform well. I've kinda absorbed it as "conventional wisdom" but I wanted to point you to something for more info. I think it's particularly true in a low RAM situation. So, here's a bit more on the subject, if yer interested.

Item # 12, in particular. But to be honest, there doesn't seem to be much here for you to worry about, as long as you are not seeing any problems.
Will Panther really take up lots more then Jag?
Gee, I just love it when people challenge what I say, (I'm serious! I don't automatically believe anything I'm told, and I always ask questions, myself.)
So, to answer your question: Okay, it was a bit of a "surmise" on my part. I am assuming that the Panther OS will be bigger than Jag (which is at least a Gig-plus, right?) just based on the trend I've seen from 8.6 to 9.x to X. Considering the additional features in Panther, maybe it will be close to 2 Gigs? I guess we'll see.
