I have two questions:
   1) Not to challenge, but I read in the Levitus & Brisbin
book titled Answers as folos:

"If you have a large drive (more than 2GB), partitioning it
is a good way to organize your stuff, and can acctually
save space. Under Mac OS Standard format, a file takes up
more space on a large drive than it does on a 1GB or
smaller disk. Partitioning a big drive keeps file sizes
down by creating several volumes from a single disk."

    2) I have my iMac 40GB drive partitioned and would like
to replace Jaguar with Panther on one of the partitions
which is 10GB in size. Since Panther is such a large
"upgrade," I would think that erasing and installing would
be less buggy. But step by step, how do you erase a
partition? You don't have to boot into it again? Hard to
understand the details. Thanks for explaining.
