9.0 and 9.0.4 were riddled with problems. There is no excuse for running anything 
previous to 9.1 on any G3 Mac, unless you really do have software that doesn't like OS 
9.

Yes OS 9.x has Iomega drivers but they only offer skeleton support. If you must 
install Iomega software for other features download the latest OS 9 version from 
Iomega.com.

Iomega explicitly recommend direct connectio to the computer of any of their USB data 
devices. I did use a USB drive via a powered hub on my iBook for a while but it caused 
Kernel Panics in OS X. Thankfully I stopped using it soon after as I got a G3 wit han 
ATAPI Zip Drive.
