Because the majority is always wrong?

Has she used a $400 PC? I haven't, but from what I've heard, they're not
the greatest. Probably a motherboard and processor that are a few years out
of date, tiny hard drive and RAM, Win XP Home Edition (What is that, the
"dumbed down" windows?), and a cheap 15" or 17" CRT - by the time you've put
a new hard drive in it, more RAM, XP Pro, (and add in the time you spent
doing it) you might as well have bought a $1000 PC. Or an $800 eMac.

I wonder what holds it's value more. A $400 PC, or an $800 eMac?

A few years ago I was living in a pretty desolate area. But I was still
able to get on my bicycle, ride for an hour or two to Staples (An office
supply store) and buy a plain old ATA 10 GB hard drive, take it home, slap
it in my Mac 6400 (A vintage 1996 machine) and it was working faster and
easier than ANYTHING I've ever tried to add to a PC. Even in those dark
days (This was around 1999) when I wanted RAM or an Ethernet card, I had
this newfangled thing called "The Internet" where thousands of companies
were only too happy to sell me every kind of part I could possibly need for
my Mac, and hundreds of website showing me how to install it.

>> 3) There's not a lot of software available for the Mac.

Word processors and other office programs, web browsers, AOL, MSN, Yahoo and
tons of other chat programs, email, graphics and movie and music editing
programs, enough games that I could play them constantly for the rest of my
life and never get bored - plus emulator software that lets me run any
Windows program. Oh yeah, several open source operating systems.

Just about the only thing missing is the Windows security holes and viruses.
And if I really miss those I can fire up an emulator and infect a virtual
PC.

Can't argue with that. If you use Windows computers, your business will
suck and you won't make enough money to afford Macs. Without Macs your
business will continue to suck. Is is a vicious cycle! =o)

Your current Monitor, RAM, Hard drive, CD(R/RW), DVD, and USB keyboard and
mouse could possibly work in a Mac.

You'd just need a Mac case with a motherboard and processor in it, and to
reformat that hard drive and get OS X on it. Come on, you know you want to!

(Who has a PC sitting next to his Mac. (And next to that a few 8-bit
Commodores, some Amigas, apple IIs, Texas Instruments computers, More PCs
and Macs...) - I like all my computers, I just like my Mac the best.)
