I think maybe what Muz is remembering is that waaay back when, when the
first batch of zip drives came out, they came with both PC and Mac software
on a floppy, and included one zip disk. If you installed the software on one
platform, it initialized the disk for that platform, and also I think it
somehow rendered the floppy only usable on that platform. My Dad bought one
of those very first zip drives and let me use it first (on my 6100/60)...
consequently, he had to call Iomega and order another install disk so he
could install the software on his PC. He grumbled about it... we shared the
drive for awhile... and eventually he bought a second one for himself. My
Dad loved gadgets and all things techno... his first home computer was a
kaypro... and later the TRSash 80. How I wish I could chat with him now
about all the new technology. He passed away 4 years ago. Thanks for the
little trip down memory lane.
