I need help running a zip drive on an old iMac. I installed the Iomega software, but the unit is not recogizeing that a USB zip is connected to it. What am I doing wrong? I am running system 8.1. The system profiler says that the zip extentions are enabled. Help!
Which version of the Zip software did you install? Do the Zip 100 and Zip 250 use different drivers? (I haven't used the 250, so I dunno)
Are the USB extensions enabled on the iMac under 8.1? (I don't even remember if 8.1 shipped with USB extensions... although I think the iMac rev. A might have shipped with 8.1, I guess)
Is the USB Zip drive connected directly to the iMac or through a USB hub? (IIRC, there were some problems with that)?
Those are some of the areas I'd look at for answers...
