Brian, to use a new WD HD in your (i)Mac and if you're using it as the only device on the ATA bus (the CD is on the other bus which the Rev A-D iMacs have) than you have to _remove_ the jumper from the HD. This info was mentioned once on another list which helped the person with a similar problem. So it seems you have to open up her again and yank the jumper.
