Go to "Disc Copy" in the file menu there is "Erase CD/DVD-RW Disc" select that.
You can choose "Quick" or "Complete", for CD-RW's quick works fine for me, for DVD-RW's I need "Complete".
You can also use "Disc Utility" to erase a disc or ANY disc/drive.
