Oh yeah, sorry, that kinda rings a bell. So, it's install your original iMac OS to do the firmware update or else move the logicboard into another iMac to get it updated.
Perhaps someone already mentioned this, but can't you boot off an install disk and then run the firmware upgrade? I seem to recall being able to boot off an OS 9 install disk. Am I just imagining that?
