If the question has already been discussed, my apologies.
Since moving to Panther (I think it was OK under Jaguar, but I may be mistaken), it has happened quite a few times that on sending Word files in attachment while using Apple Mail.app, the person at the other (Windoze) end has not been able to open the document.
I have checked the various settings that are available in Mail.app (why didn't Apple come up with a better name, iMail perhaps?) and I couldn't find anything to solve the issue.
I'm not sure if it is OS X icon resources, some form of compression or whatever (I send the Word file as it is, actually), but they just seem unable to open the file.
Anyone knows of a remedy? - I have no alternative but to send Word files to Windows people, before drastic suggestions are put forward...
Thanks,
Walter
Walter,
How are you attaching the files? I had a similar problem but found that by using the paper clip in the toolbar an option came up to "Send Windows Friendly Attachments" at the bottom of the choose file window. Drag and drop did not work for me. With this checked I seem to have taken care of the majority of the problem. Occasionally I still need to "Zip" the file.
Hope this helps,
Ken
