Walter,
The other place you can make the adjustment is up under Edit in the top 
toolbar--there's a selection for "send Windows friendly attachments". 
Then it's always on, for those less fortunate!!!

Hi Ken,

thanks ever so much. We were using the paper clip but I hadn't even 
noticed that option in the dialog box. It's actually my wife having 
trouble with that feature, so I hadn't paid much attention to the 
details... She'll try your tip and it sounds as if it may well solve 
the problem. I'm really grateful for the tip!
