I recently bought a bondi 233 iMac (OS 9.03) from someone that got it from U of Michigan. The CD-ROM was not recognizing, so I looked up what files were missing. Found that UDF Volume Access was not in the system folder I think as a security measure. Makes sense.
To get the file from a 6100 running 8.1 formatted (older file system, not HFS+)I networked the two computers. Copied over the file from the 6100 to the iMac and put it in the system folder. Now the iMac does not complete the desktop build. The iMac still does not recognize a system disk (OS9) in the CD-ROM during startup holding down the C key and Command + C as alternatives. Nadda. I tried to hold down the shift key on the keyboard during startup, but all extensions loaded so I could maybe get the desktop built with out the faulty extension loading. No luck. Any suggestions?
