I have 3 Rev A's I was able to upgrade to 512 MB using two 256 cards. Some things I learned that may be of help: 1: The Rev A is spec'd for needing 64 bit RAM. Many newer 256 MB SO-DIMMs are 8 bit. The iMac won't see those corrrectly. Make sure you get 64 bit cards. 2: Some of the Rev A CPU cards have metal retaining tabs for the SO-DIMMs. The 256 MB cards have the chips packed pretty tightly to the sides of the cards. The metal tabs rest against the pins of the chips on the card, shorting them out. While the tabs are shorting the chip, the iMac will boot fine, but not "see" the card. This can be fixed with a small peice of electrical tape. Between those two factors, I was able to get 256 MB SO-DIMMs working just fine in all 3 of my Rev A iMacs. And of course, don't forget that you need a low profile card for the lower slot. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
