We (me and my staff) operate a business ( I admit it is small ) I do not plan obsolence in the products I sell but do improve when possible. We have used the same computer (LC575 )for about 9 years - it does the lot, never crashes, never needed to be expanded. A couple of years ago we have bought a second LC575 just in case something happens but have never had to use it.

I think it's so cool when I read about folks keeping the older Macs in service. I was fascinated by "Low End Mac" when I came across it, and I have it too blame for my costly "vintage" shopping sprees since then! ;)

I hate to admit it, but the other day when I got a PC upgrade at work (2. something gig processor), I thought to myself with a passion, "I want a G5!". Then reality sunk in and I realize that my reliable G3 600 MHz iMac will serve me until I grow some money on a tree.

Sounds like you have a good fit!

Peace,

Donald
