For all you home network gurus...I'm not sure what you are describing here. With our little LAN. (Mac's and peecee) everything is mounted, once, in the morning when things are turned on and left that way all day until shutdown. ( may well be a script to automatically mount the network, but I don't know it. We just use OS X's built in networking to mount the LAN. With only five units it is a small quick job, once a day.) Then it is easy to send documents to another computer using "save as", or drag and drop, at anytime.
Is there any way to directly send a file from one computer in a home network to another?
Right now I have to email them to myself on one computer, then download it on the other.
Any better solution than this? I would think you should be able to send through the IP address somehow....Well you are using IP when you first mount the remote disks on the network, but after that it's just a normal save or drag. The Mac sees the other machines as individual disks mounted on the desktop, like any other HD.
