With a SLOT LOAD iMac, no it isn't just an adaptor plug. There is no easy 
way to connect to the CRT on the slot load versions.

The TRAY LOAD has an internal standard RGB video cable running to the 
CRT, so the tray load model is just an adaptor (but remember, the power 
for the CRT still comes thru the iMac, so you still need to have the iMac 
powered on to use the Mac Mini with the iMac CRT)
