I have a dirt cheap NEC DVD+-R/RW, CD-RW drive that works fine with OS X. I paid $30 for it at a computer expo. The only catch, I had to use PatchBurn <http://www.patchburn.de/> to get OS X to decide it was a valid drive. But now it works with OS X native for burning. Prior to installing the PatchBurn profile, it read just fine in OS X, and burned just fine using Toast. So what does this mean? Chances are, any old cheap burner will work if you just let PatchBurn install a profile for it. -chris <http://www.mythtech.net> -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
