Hello all:

I've had lightning come in on my slot loading imac dv+'s modem. I stripped it down to the motherboard and took off the modem and there is some apparent blackening on the modem making it obvious that the damage came in there. I closely examined the rest of the motherboard and there isn't any obviously blown circuitry. I removed the modem and reassembled the machine, but it's still dead as a doornail. Pushing the power button produces nothing. I also tried pressing the reset button on the side of the machine where the other ports are located. Any ideas what might be blown and how to go about testing it?
