WELLLLL< I got an email from Apple today AND another phone call. Here
is the email:
While we regret that your computer requires a hardware repair, one of
the Terms and Conditions of the AppleCare Protection Plan states that
"Onsite service is available for many desktop computers if the
location of the Covered Equipment is within 50 miles/80 kilometers
radius of an Apple authorized onsite service provider located in the
United States of America or Canada. Apple will dispatch a service
technician to the location of the Covered Equipment to perform repair
or replacement service. If a service technician visits your location
at agreed times and you are absent, service may be subject to an
additional charge. " We took that quote directly from the Terms &
Conditions, found online at <http://www.apple.com/legal/applecare/
app.html>.
We set up a "test" onsite dispatch, and a service provider appeared,
which says that we can get someone out to your home and repair your
computer. If you wish to do that instead of request a pro-rated
refund of the AppleCare Protection Plan, please call an AppleCare
representative at 1-800-275-2273, option 1, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. (CST)
seven days a week.
Allen the guy I talked to yesterday called and said he did more
research and he said it looked like there WAS someone in my area that
could come out!!!!
They are going to call me in the next few days to set it up!
