A friend of mine is doing just this.  Actually... Instead of a real 
flash memory drive, she's using 2/3 of her generic MP3 Player to hold 
her backups.  Works well.  And there's enough space left over to hold 
her day's playlist and then some. LOL

My housemates stash stuff on camera media cards.  He got them for 
cheap on eBay - 99c to $4 each.  I think he paid $8 for the USB 
Reader gizmo.
